Philly Cheese Steak-Stuffed Bell Peppers

Ingredients

  • 3largegreen bell peppers, halved lengthwise and seeded
  • 1(14 ounce) packagethinly sliced frozen Philly beef steak
  • 1tablespoonolive oil
  • 1largesweet onion, diced
  • 1(6 ounce) packagebaby bella mushrooms, diced
  • 1tablespoonminced garlic
  • 1teaspoonMontreal steak seasoning, more to taste
  • 6slicesprovolone cheese

  • Directions

    Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Place bell peppers cut-side up on a baking sheet. Set aside.

    Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Cook and stir steak until lightly brown, about 10 minutes. Remove from the skillet.

    Heat oil in the skillet until hot. Add onion, mushrooms, garlic, and steak seasoning; cook until tender, about 5 minutes. Return steak to the skillet; cook until warmed through, 3 to 5 minutes more.

    Divide steak mixture evenly between pepper halves; top with cheese.

    Bake in the preheated oven until cheese is golden, about 15 minutes.
