Ingredients

  • ½largeonion, sliced
  • 3clovesgarlic, chopped
  • 1poundbeef sirloin, cut into 2-inch strips, or more to taste
  • ½teaspoonground cumin
  • ½teaspoonground black pepper
  • ½teaspoonchili powder
  • ½teaspoononion powder
  • ½teaspoongarlic powder
  • ¼teaspoonpaprika
  • ¼teaspoondried thyme
  • ¼teaspoondried marjoram
  • ¼teaspoondried basil
  • 2tablespoonsbourbon whiskey (such as Jim Beam®)
  • 1teaspoonsoy sauce
  • 1teaspoonprepared mustard
  • 1teaspoonWorcestershire sauce
  • ½teaspoonhot sauce (such as Frank's Red Hot ®)
  • 1(12 fluid ounce) can or bottlebeer (such as Budweiser®)
  • 2cubesbeef bouillon

  • Directions

    Spread onion and garlic into the bottom of a slow cooker; layer beef on top. Sprinkle cumin, black pepper, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, thyme, marjoram, and basil over beef.

    Add bourbon, soy sauce, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and hot sauce. Stir in beer and add beef bouillon cubes.

    Cover and cook on Low for 8 hours or High for 4 hours, stirring every hour or so.
